Thank You for Participating in Parent-Teacher Conferences

A sincere thank you to all the parents who joined us for parent-teacher conferences this past week. We truly value your partnership in supporting your child’s success. Please remember that our doors are always open, so feel free to reach out to our staff for a follow-up at any point during the school year. We look forward to our continued collaboration!

Thank you, Room Parents!

We are so lucky to have such dedicated room parents. Thank you for the many hours you spent planning and the care you showed in every activity. You didn't just organize parties; you gave the children a reason to smile and memories they'll keep for a long time. We are grateful for all the support!

Practicing SWIM (Show Respect, We’re Responsible, I’M Kind)

Last week, students participated in three SWIM activities designed to foster a positive school environment. These sessions provided students with practical tools for showing respect, responsibility, and kindness. Key focus areas included minimizing learning disruptions, following instructions promptly, and accurately assessing the "size" of a problem.

When a Child is Too Sick for School - From the Health Office

As we are now in the cold and flu season, parents may wonder when to send their children to school or to keep them at home. Our district nursing staff have guidelines for parents posted on the District web Health Resources. If you have questions, please feel free to contact Nurse Kate in the Shabonee health office.

A child MUST be kept at home for:

  • A fever of 100.0 F or higher
  • If your child is vomiting
  • If your child has diarrhea
  • If your child has been diagnosed with influenza (flu)

Note: This is not an exhaustive list. Giving fever-reducing medication and sending the student to school when they are feeling ill or have a fever is discouraged.

3rd Grade Performance  Tuesday, February 17 (Repost)

Our third graders are excited to share their music performance, Disney! The Movies! The Magic!, with their families and friends. There are two performances; one for the school at 2:25 and another at 6:30 PM in the Shabonee gym for families. The afternoon performance will be live-streamed for those who cannot attend the evening performance. A link to the stream will appear as a pop-up window on our school website shortly before the performance starts. Ms. Simonsen, music teacher, shared information with the third grade students about how to dress. Please dress in Disney apparel or a solid colored shirt.

The doors will open at 6:10 PM for the 6:30 PM performance. Students should report to their classrooms while the audience finds their seats in the gym. Please do not arrive earlier as the building will not be open. We encourage you to carpool with friends and neighbors. Park only in dedicated parking spots and use extra caution when entering and leaving school grounds. Parking is available in the main lot located off Pfingsten Road, the alternate lot located off Moon Hill Drive, and overflow parking is available behind the gym once the parking lots are completely filled. You may enter at Doors A, N, or E beginning at 6:10 PM. The gymnasium has stairs. Please contact the school office in advance if you have special needs accessing the space so that we can make arrangements with you.

Information is posted on the Shabonee Performing Arts page. This page includes information about our music program, upcoming events throughout the year, and so much more. For evening performances, we also include event parking information.
